Marketing Major and Minor

When you major in marketing in Loyola’s Sellinger School of Business and Management, you’ll gain the practical knowledge and skills needed to bring brands to life and meet the marketing needs of businesses in a variety of industries. Through cutting-edge courses and our faculty’s experiential, hands-on approach to teaching, you’ll understand the function of marketing both in the firm and out in the world. Our AACSB-accredited marketing program will have you more than ready to develop effective marketing strategies grounded in the latest insights, research, and practices.

Go beyond the classroom through internships and field experiences or take a deep dive into customer experience management through a study tour at Walt Disney World Resort. Students also gain access to some of Baltimore’s top marketing professionals and receive job placement assistance through the program’s advisory board, Loyola’s Sigma Society, and other student organizations and events.

A minor in marketing is available for students in all majors.

From understanding the theories and applications of marketing concepts to gaining the confidence and ability to be to be effective decision makers, graduates of Loyola’s marketing program will:

  • Develop critical thinking, communication, and interpersonal skills;
  • Learn the fundamentals of today’s marketing landscape;
  • Examine the marketing process and consider the tools at the disposal of the marketer;
  • and Understand how value is created, sustained, and developed by an organization through integrated production and distribution of goods and services.

Customer Experience Management (CXM): The Disney Study Tour

Considered the new battlefield for business, CXM is the practice of designing and managing customer interactions to exceed customer expectations. This course meets five times on campus followed by a week-long study tour (during spring break) at Walt Disney World Resort, a world leader in CXM.

Digital Marketing and Analytics

Social media, CRM, direct marketing, content creation and distribution, communications, and brand management are all technology dependent—and produce data that marketers depend on to make decisions. Learn to connect the dots between technology tools and strategy, data, analytics, and insights, providing you with the knowledge and skills necessary for a career in marketing.

Marketing Internship

The marketing internship prepares you for a career in marketing through practical work experience and in-class discussion. Students participate in 150 hours of real-world experience working on meaningful marketing projects alongside professionals in the field.
