Leadership & Management Consulting Major and Management Consulting Minor

As a leadership and management consulting major in Loyola’s Sellinger School of business, you’ll develop the in-demand leadership, management, innovation, and consulting skills required to succeed as an effective collaborator in a broad range of organizations—from management consulting firms and for-profit businesses to entrepreneurial ventures, non-profits, and governmental agencies.

Through an immersive management curriculum, you’ll take courses in organizational behavior, leadership, strategic management and more. Apply what you learn through a hands-on consulting practicum, where you’ll compete with classmates to solve problems faced by today’s business and organizations.

A minor in management consulting is available to all students except those majoring in International Business, Leadership and Management Consulting, or Sustainability Management. Coursework fosters skill such as research, critical thinking, evidence-based problem solving, and analytical reasoning.

From developing important competencies to be effective, innovative leaders to gaining critical problem-solving and decision-making skills, graduates of Loyola’s leadership and management consulting program will:

  • Develop skills necessary for effective leadership, people management, negotiation, and conflict resolution;
  • Practice creative and critical thinking as well as judgement and decision making;
  • and Collaborate, cooperate, and coordinate with others to solve complex problems while developing emotional intelligence.

Interdisciplinary studies major in leadership and management consulting and psychology

Combining leadership and management consulting and psychology allows students to explore the underpinnings of human behavior in organizations. The courses required for this pathway provide excellent preparation for careers in human resource management, organizational development, and human capital consulting. It is also an excellent foundation for graduate studies in industrial/organizational psychology or organizational behavior.
